Customers came in their droves to take a look at the new St David’s Hospice shop, which opened in Pwllheli on Wednesday.

The town’s Mayor, Cllr Michael Sol Owen, cut the ribbon and officially opened the High Street store, which proved very popular with shoppers, many queuing an hour before.

Chief Executive of St David’s Hospice, Trystan Pritchard said: “We are really grateful to the local community for their support.  St David’s Hospice is keen to ensure high quality end of life care is available locally and all profits from the Pwllheli shop will be re-invested into services for the local area.

“We will be working closely with the clinical services provided by Hospice at Home Gwynedd and Anglesey, offering a practical and emotional support service for patients and their families who have a palliative or end of life condition”.

The Hospice Shop, which will be open Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm, is currently looking for volunteer shop assistants to join their team.
