Don your eye patch and tricorn for the famously free, family weekend full of fun, fancy dress, magic, music and cannon fire!

Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, 2016 marks the fifth annual transformation of the town as the one and only Conwy Pirate Weekend is back with a cannon bang! Salty sea dogs of all ages, from far and wide, will gather to participate and adorn ‘piratey’ attire!

A full size pirate ship complete with crew and cannons will sail into the Quay to attack Conwy! But ‘land lubbers’ should not be fearful, the Hearts of Oak Naval officers will be on hand to protect as they battle the invaders in a thrilling conflict with live cannon fire!

2016 will see the return of the famous fancy dress competition, a clash of the mightiest pirates in a gruelling barrel carrying race, live entertainment from an assortment of talented artists, and good merchants with an array of artefacts for sale in the Smuggler’s Market.

Claire Williams of HTC Entertainment and Events, who organise the weekend long celebration said: “We are immensely proud of how far Conwy Pirate Weekend has come, every year the support from local businesses and the number of attendees, many of whom attend in full fancy dress, is astounding. It is wonderful to see so many people enjoying a family weekend. We are in the process of finalising the lineup and have another very exciting announcement coming up soon!”

A ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ themed party marks the start of the festivities on Friday, June June 24, in ye old Bluebell public house of Conwy with Afro / Latin / Caribbean live music from Banda Bacana, plus food, rum, lots of ale, and dancing in to the night! Tickets are £5 and  available to buy online at htcevents.co.uk
