Heading up the new division and tasked with driving it forward are Managing Director Phil Dolan and Land & Planning Director Duncan Gregory.  Both join Anwyl from land promoter Gladman Developments and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience in sourcing suitable land for strategic and immediate residential and mixed-use development.

With its innovative strategy which focuses on working with landowners and advisors to unlock the true potential and future residential development of land, the new division aims to promote land on a national basis to help address the UK housing crisis.

Using their combined 35+ years of industry experience, Phil and Duncan will collaborate with landowners across the UK to identify sites (ranging typically from four to 40+ acres) that offer short, medium and long-term development.  Whether it is a small Greenfield site in a sustainable town or village, or a substantial landholding in whole or part for a new settlement, the duo will use their knowledge, expertise and passion to secure residential-led planning permission.

Starting off in a strong and unique position, in that Anwyl Land will benefit from the In House Technical Team from the Group’s homes and construction divisions, Phil and Duncan can call upon this support network to assist in the planning and onward disposal process.

From conception to completion, Anwyl Land will work on the landowner’s behalf, liaising with all the relevant industry bodies and consultants to manage and fund the whole process, maximising each site’s potential and optimising future value.  As well as providing much needed market and affordable housing for local people, the developments will also bring community benefits, such as improved educational facilities, play areas for children and economic upgrades for local shops which will help to sustain towns and villages and maintain their long term vitality.

Commenting on the launch of Anwyl Land, Phil Dolan says: “It is an incredibly exciting time to launch this new division, and both Duncan and I are thrilled to join the Anwyl Group and be a part of their continued growth.  Our drive, focus and determination to succeed on every parcel of land we promote, complemented by the financial strength and vast experience in planning, house building and construction from the Group, makes a formidable partner for any landowner seeking to realise the potential of their land.

“Working nationally, we will be providing a bespoke service to landowners, working in complete partnership seeking to achieve planning permission.  The sites we are promoting will help local communities prosper and assist Local Planning Authorities in meeting their short and medium term housing targets, coupled with much needed affordable homes and properties for first time buyers and families, creating mixed and balanced communities.”

Anwyl Land has already identified a number of potential sites and is in detailed discussions with land owners about promoting their land both immediately where no five year housing land supply exists, and on a medium term basis through the Local Plan review process.

Phil concludes: “There is an acknowledged housing requirement of circa 240,000 new homes per annum in the UK, and last year just over 140,000 new homes were built.  There is still a significant shortfall and under delivery of new homes.  By promoting sustainable and deliverable sites for residential development, Anwyl Land will play a small part in contributing towards the Government’s annual housing targets.”

In addition, Phil and Duncan will assist Anwyl Group in developing its student accommodation and PRS models across the country.  The company’s first student accommodation scheme of 566 beds, located on Norton Street in Liverpool, recently received planning permission, whilst a planning application has now been lodged for a 340+ PRS apartment scheme in Pall Mall, also in Liverpool.

Established for 85 years, Anwyl Group has three divisions; Anwyl Land, Anwyl Homes and Anwyl Construction.  Based in North Wales, and operating across Wales and the North West of England, the family-run business is renowned for its thoughtful approach, bringing care and integrity to all aspects of every project in order to exceed expectations and ensure complete satisfaction for customers.

From beautiful new residential developments to award winning major mixed use commercial schemes, Anwyl is growing quickly and has ambitious plans for the future.  For further information, please visit www.anwylgroup.co.uk
