Bangor Football Club supporting the ‘Smoke Free’ campaign

Bangor City Football Club has recently become the first sports ground in Gwynedd to become ‘Smoke Free’.

Bangor will be closely followed by Porthmadog, Bethesda and Pwllheli Football and Rugby Clubs, who are also adopting the ‘Smoke Free’ status.

Councillor Mair Rowlands, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Healthy Gwynedd said: “Healthy lungs free from smoke are important for any sport. It’s great that Bangor, Porthmadog, Bethesda and Pwllheli are supporting the scheme.

“The aim is to encourage a clean smoke free environment for all spectators as well as decreasing cigarette litter. The scheme is also designed to ensure that kids are in a smoke free environment. We hope to be able to work with other sports grounds in Gwynedd in the future to become ‘Smoke Free’.”
