Welsh celebrity Dai Chef, famous for promoting the merits of Welsh food, has joined a 5 star Holiday Park in Llanrug, near Caernarfon.

Taking up the position of Executive Chef at Brynteg, Dai will lead the culinary team, bringing a taste of Wales to the dining experience for both holiday makers and guests.

Known in the culinary world as Dai Chef, cookery demonstrations and frequent appearances at food festivals, infused with his characteristic anecdotal fun, have gained him a loyal following and national reputation.

“I’m very excited about the next chapter in my culinary journey,” explains Dai.

“For the past four decades, I have promoted the produce of Wales nationally and internationally. Apart from lamb, leeks and laverbread, we have the sweetest crustacean, fantastic game, and a rich tapestry of produce from the Snowdonia mountain range. I am absolutely delighted at this opportunity.”

Often seen with sidekick, 10 year old daughter Megan – herself a budding young chef, Dai will be introducing food demonstrations to Brynteg, including a regular ‘Saturday Kitchen’, welcoming both holiday makers and guests to enjoy events and the dining experience.

Managing Director, James McAllister said: “We are very excited to have attracted Dai Chef to Brynteg. He possesses an incredible mixture of creativity, experience, and passion. Our customers are going to love him and what he creates for them. We have great ambitions for Brynteg and we are certain that with Dai on board we can create something really special.”

Joining Brynteg from the prestigious Bodnant Welsh Food Centre in the Conwy Valley, Dai has owned his own health juice bar in Wrexham and artisan bread range which went on sale at Harrods in London. He has captained the Culinary Olympic team, cooked for the Monarchy, Ambassadors and world stars, and trained and mentored chefs who have gone on to hold positions in some of the world’s finest restaurants.

Recently crowned ‘Best Relax and Explore Destination in Wales’, Brynteg is nested in the heart of Snowdonia. Offering a range of luxury static caravans and lodges for both rental holidays and purchase, facilities include an on site fishing lake, lakeside bistro, country club, spa, tropical indoor pool and leisure complex.
