GeekedFest Ltd has announced that the ‘GeekedFest’ event will be returning to Newport for the second year running on August 6 and 7 at the Newport Centre. 

‘GeekedFest’ is Newport’s own Film/TV and comic book convention and visitors can expect celebrity guests from the world of Film, TV and beyond who will be offering autographs and photo opportunities.

There will also be many stalls selling all variety of comic books, memorabilia, toys and crafts as well as many Film/TV exhibits, gaming and cosplay zones and family-friendly activities. The event also hopes to raise money for several local charities.

GeekedFest was started in 2015 by local business-man Shane Richard Jordan who also launched his own comic-book shop ‘Sin City Comics’ in Cwmbran the same year.

 “We are committed to providing a fun, safe and friendly event for all involved and one that benefits our area; so that we can offer some-thing to locals that has up till now only been available at events in Cardiff “

“We had a great first event in 2015; however with the recent re-development of Newport’s town centre [Friars Walk] we are expecting this year’s event to be even bigger! We are also working with several local businesses that have recently moved to Friars Walk”

Tickets are due to go on-sale in April at www.GeekedFest.com with early-bird tickets available to buy right now at Sin City Comics Cwmbran; further details of special guests and activities will released in the coming months.
