Gwynedd Council’s outgoing chairman, Councillor Dewi Owen has raised £2,000 for Tŷ Gobaith/Hope House.
Councillor Dewi Owen organised a grand concert at Y Ganolfan, Porthmadog, in March featuring the Oakley Youth Band and the Welsh Three Tenors.
A collection for the charity was also made at the Chairman’s Civic Service at St Peter Church, Aberdyfi, at the end of April.
Ahead of his last meeting as Gwynedd Council Chairman, Councillor Owen presented a cheque for £2,000 to the charity.
Councillor Owen said: “It has been a great honour to serve as Chairman of Gwynedd Council, and these events were two of the highlights of the past 12 months.
“I would like to thank everyone who helped in organising both events and all those who supported. I’m delighted to be able to donate this money to this worthy cause.”
