Live updates as Hurricane Ophelia tail hits Wales and severe weather warning upgraded

Thousands of homes in Wales have been left without power as the tail of Hurricane Ophelia hits.

Gusts of up to 80mph have been forecast and the Met Office has an amber sever weather warning in place.

The amber warning covers southwest and northwest Wales. A yellow warning is now in place for the rest of the country.

Winds of around 55-65mph are expected in Wales, though those could reach 80mph on the coast.

All schools have been closed in parts of Wales. Some bridges are also closed and some flights have been cancelled.
