AS part of a new appeal following an assault on young woman in Bangor, North Wales Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to question in connection with the offence.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the man who assaulted a woman during the early hours of Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Ffriddoedd Road, Bangor.

The incident left the 20 year old woman badly shaken, but fortunately her physical injuries were not serious.

DC Dave Smith at Bangor CID said “The incident occurred sometime between 3.30am and 4.30am on Ffriddoedd Road, Bangor close to Bangor University’s Sports and Leisure Centre.

“Prior to the assault the woman was followed by her attacker from Holyhead Road into Ffriddoedd Road.

“The offender is described as a black male aged between 30 and 40 years old.   He is about 5’ 8 tall and of stocky build.   He was wearing a waist length black jacket”.

“We have been able to identify CCTV images of the suspect who we had hoped to identify by other means, but I am now asking for the public’s assistance”.
