Ysgol Talysarn pupils taking part in the road safety scheme

Officers from Gwynedd Council’s Road Safety Unit recently visited Ysgol Talysarn as part of a scheme to promote child pedestrian safety.

Kerbcraft is a National Strategy for Child Pedestrian Safety Financed by the Welsh Government. It teaches children agred from 5-7 how to be safer pedestrians by taking them onto real roads and showing them how the right decision-making and behaviour can really help them to keep safe.

North Wales Police participated in the scheme by holding a training session on Stranger Danger at the school. This included helping children to identify who is a stranger and who is not, what a child should do when a stranger approaches them, and who a child should report the incident to.

Over 20 pupils participated with everyone thoroughly enjoying the session.
