GeekedFest Ltd has announced today their first big guest announcement for the ‘GeekedFest’ event which will be returning to Newport for the second year running on August 6 and 7, 2016, at the Newport Centre.
Joining the GeekedFest 2016 line-up is…..Patricia Quinn!
In 1973 Patricia opened the very first stage performance of the Rocky Horror Show with the song ‘Science Fiction Double Feature’ in London. The film version ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ followed in 1975; reprising her role as Magenta. Patricia lost her opening song to Richard O’Brien; he sang it for the film, however, the infamous glossy red lips at the beginning of the film most definitely belong to Patricia!
Patricia continued to work hard after Rocky with notable performances in TV, Film & Theatre including Doctor Who, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life, Minder, I, Claudius, The Professionals, The Bill, Bergerac and Tales of the Unexpected. Most recently she appeared in 2012’s Lords of Salem directed by horror legend Rob Zombie! She also appeared in the Big Finish audio drama Bang-Bang-a-Boom!
Patricia will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans all weekend as well taking part in a Q+A session.
‘GeekedFest’ is Newport’s own Film/TV & comic book convention and visitors can expect celebrity guests from the world of Film, TV & beyond who will be offering autographs and photo opportunities. There will also be many stalls selling all variety of comic books, memorabilia, toys & crafts as well as many Film/TV exhibits, gaming & cosplay zones and family-friendly activities such as a Lego play area. The event also hopes to raise money for several local charities. Stalls at the event are still available for any local traders that might be interested.
