Pilates classes jump for joy

Determined not to miss out, ladies from Llandudno Junction’s Peak Physio and Fitness centre have signed up for Llandudno’s first Colour Run.

Organised by local charity St David’s Hospice, it is set to be an event to be remembered. At 10am, Sunday, September 6the sands of West Shore will be full participants being showered from head-to-toe with coloured powder as they take part in the 5k fun run.

Sally Evans, owner and principle Physiotherapist at Peak Physio and Fitness said: “I have a friend who was recently cared for by the Hospice, she told me not to put things off for the future because we don’t know how long that may be and we may never get another chance. I often think of that.

“I missed out on registering for the Hospice’s Anglesey event as it was full before I got myself organised. A few people in my Pilates classes expressed an interest for the Llandudno run. We thought it would be fun to do it as a team, before long there was a team of 20 or more.

“Because we have such a broad range of abilities this is the perfect opportunity to all do something together as it is so inclusive. I’m looking forward to us all having a messy photo at the end when we have all finished!

“The work that St David’s Hospice does is invaluable. I’m sure all of us know someone that has benefitted from the care that the Hospice provides for patients and their families in the final stages of life. To have an opportunity to contribute financially through fundraising is an honour”.

Mel Cunningham, Organiser and Community Fundraiser for St David’s Hospice said: “We had an overwhelming response to our Rhosneigr Colour Run, with many people disappointed that it filled so quickly. We have made more places available for this run.

“It is such a fun, colourful event which everyone can take part in young and old. It is an untimed race in which participants can walk, hop, skip, jump or dance to the finish line.”

It is St David’s Hospice’ brightest and messiest fundraiser yet, and will be using paint that is 100% natural and eco-friendly. Participants will be encouraged to get messy and have fun, perfect event for all the family.

Entry fee is: £20 per adult £15 per child £60 per family of four and you must pre-register to take part.
