It’s my favourite time of year again, as Strictly Come Dancing hits our screens again!

It’s amazing to think the BBC show has been running now since 2004, and is as popular as ever, and this year should be particularly poignant with head judge Len Goodman stepping down at the end of the series.

The line-up this year looks amazing – Melvin Odoom, Anastacia, Greg Rutherford, Laura Whitmore, Daisy Lowe, Ed Balls MP, Louise Redknapp, Danny Mac, Tameka Empson, Will Young, Ore Oduba, Claudia Fragapane, Judge Robert Rinder, Lesley Joseph,  and Naga Munchetty.

I love Anastacia, she’s a feisty character, has battled Chron’s Disease (like me) and cancer twice, she had a double mastectomy in 2013 and I really would like to see her doing well.

I also can’t wait to see Robert Rinder in action, I think even Craig Revel Horwood may have met his match this time, as the Judge has a whole dossier of one liners he can hit back with!

The dark horse could turn out to be Lesley Joseph, who at 70 years old is the show’s oldest contestant this year. But, she has a strong background in musical theatre and I wouldn’t be surprised if she turns out to be a great hoofer.

It will be interesting to see how Will Young fares, he comes across as a very likeable man, but whether he can strut his stuff or not is another matter!

Tameka Epson’s portrayal of Kim on Eastenders is hilarious, and I’m sure she will be a bundle of fun on Strictly as well.

As to the hopeless cases, the ones who look like they’ve only just learnt how to walk, let alone dance, I think Ed Balls might fall into that category. I can see him being shot out of a cannon as we speak!

Strictly Come Dancing: The Launch can be seen tomorrow night on BBC 1 from 6.50pm to  8.15pm. Literally, cannot wait!
