The SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail Marathon 2016 has sold out for a second successive year

The award winning SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail Marathon 2016 has sold out for a second successive year, with organisers Always Aim High Events announcing a new route to accompany the sold out marathon distances.

This year, the event will see 1,000 people take on one of the most challenging trail marathon races in the country, but this time there will be a new distance – the SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail 10k!

The Snowdonia Trail 10k promises to be one of the most stunning (and challenging) trail runs in the UK. The route will take in many of the sights around Llanberis including Padarn Country Park, Dolbadarn Castle and the Snowdon Llanberis Path, starting and finishing in the centre of Llanberis among the thousands of spectators expected on the day.

Registration is open now for the SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail 10k and with limited spaces available, signing up as early as possible is highly encouraged – Always Aim High Events anticipate the new distance to sell out in days.

SCOTT Sports have also generously donated very special prize bundles for the male and female winners of each of the three distances!

Ascending 1,685m over 26 miles of iconic and spectacular trails the epic SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail Marathon will visit Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant, Pen y Pass and then eventually climb Wales’ highest peak, Snowdon.

The marathon, which starts and finishes in Llanberis, ran for the first time in 2015 and immediately became a favourite with the running and outdoor communities across the UK. Earlier this year, the marathon was voted one of the best new events in the country at the 2016 National Running Awards.

The SCOTT Sports Snowdonia Trail Marathon 2016 takes place on Sunday, July 24, and is expected to bring thousands of visitors and spectators to the area from all over the UK.
